Google Docs has a lot of things about it, and one of those things includes forms and surveys. Forms and surveys are used for public opinion as well as experimenting and getting accurate results from a certain poll.

Hey, it's time for another episode of Tech Tool Talk.
This is Stefani Wagoner, and I'm your Tech-spert for today in the month of May.
Today's tool is Google Docs - Forms and Surveys.
Google Docs is a free, web-based office and data storage service offered by Google.
Forms and Surveys is an option that you can have when you get on Google Docs.
All you have to do is go to www.google.com and find the documents on the top bar.
Once you get to Google docs, click on the orange Create tab on the left of the screen.
There should be a drop down box that will let you choose which type of creation you wish to make.
Click on Form. On Google docs, forms and surveys are in one category.
When you get into the form, there’s a variety of questions and designs that you can choose from.
If you want to change the theme of the form or survey, click on the theme button on the top left.
When you find the theme you like, click apply. When you want to add more questions, click on the add item button on the top left of the screen.
The options for questions are text, paragraph text, multiple choice, and checkboxes, choose from a list, scale and grid.
Text allows the person to reply with normally just a one word answer. Paragraph text allows them to state a longer opinion about something.
Multiple choice will allow them to pick from however many answers you list from them based on what they believe.
Checkboxes are like multiple choice. Scale can help you with multiple things.
If you want to see how much the survey means to someone, using scale would be a good idea. If you want to serve multiple options, you can use grid. If you want to make the question required, check the box next to the done button.
Once you create the form or survey that you wish to put out, then you can either email or embed the form at the top right corner.
Make sure that if you want to see the responses of those who have taken the form, that you click on the “show responses” button on the top right.
If you mess up something on it, you can always click on form on the tool bar, and click edit forum.
At school, we used this to make a survey for an election topic of our choice.
You can use it for anything that you want to have a survey or a form for. Once the form or survey has been saved and started, the answers come up into a spreadsheet.
It helps to organize and show which questions were answered. I find using a form or survey easy to track people’s opinions on certain topics.
Well, that's it for today's Tech Tool Talk with your Tech-spert Stefani Wagoner
Remember, YOU can become a tech-spert, too!
